Ribbon cutting set for U.S. 64 widening project in Polk County

State officials will officially open a 2.2-mile long widening project on U.S. Highway 64 in Polk County today at 4:35 p.m., according to a announcement released this morning.

Officials said people who want to attend should meet at the bus stop at Hardee's, 4803 U.S. Highway 411, no later than 4:30 p.m. to ride a shuttle to the event.

TDOT Commissioner John Schroer, state representatives Mike Bell and Eric Watson and Polk County Executive Hoyt Firestone will be present for the ribbon cutting ceremony, according to officials.
