Just last month, we noted the birthdays of two of our greatest presidents: George Washington, on Feb. 22, 1732, and Abraham Lincoln, on Feb. 12, 1809.
That prompted us to wonder when our current president, Barack Obama, will celebrate his next birthday. It’ll be Aug. 4, 2011, and he’ll be 50.
President Washington took office in 1789.
President Lincoln was inaugurated in 1861.
President Obama was sworn into office in 2009.
If we compare those earlier presidents with our current one, what does that say about not just them — but about the relative wisdom and judgment of the American voters who elected those presidents in their respective times?
