No injuries were reported in a fire today at a reportedly empty home in the Dallas Bay area.

At 11:15 a.m., firefighters from the Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department responded to a 911 call on a fire at 16168 Dallas Lake Road, said Amy E. Maxwell, spokeswoman for Hamilton County Emergency Services. Heavy smoke and fire was showing through the front windows when they arrived, she said.

The fire was quickly extinguished and contained the damage to the kitchen area, she said.

No injuries were reported, Maxwell said, and according to the next door neighbor, no one lives at the residence. Firefighters also reported that there was no electricity at the house.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, Maxwell said.
