BARRY COURTER: Lisa, there are a couple of live music shows and a Broadway show that are of particular interest scheduled in town this week. Gordon Lightfoot, who ranks right up there with Mike Myers and Molson Golden beer as Canada's greatest exports, is at the Tivoli on Wednesday. The California Guitar Trio is at Rhythm & Brews and "A Chorus Line" is at Memorial Auditorium on Tuesday. That's variety.

LISA DENTON: And don't forget the wearin' of the green on Thursday. It must be true that everybody's Irish on St. Patrick's Day because there sure are a lot ways to celebrate.

Celtic harpist Eryn Jones will provide the Fireside Nights entertainment at Rock City from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, and local musicians John Lathim and Michelle Young will perform, along with Tim Starnes and Stephen Smith, at 7 p.m. at The Honest Pint, an Irish pub.

Plus, there's an after-work hike by meet-up group Outdoor Club South that will start at 5:35 p.m. on the north end of the Walnut Street Bridge. They'll walk for an hour "then trundle down to Hair of the Dog to eat dinner," according to organizer Bryan Frye.

Oh, and you can drink green wine at The Georgia Winery from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday.

BARRY: In my younger days, I might have imbibed enough red wine on occasion that my gills turned green, but I've never had green wine. One thing's for sure, this is a busy week with lots to do.

LISA: It's all good, but I think my favorite of the week would be the Gordon Lightfoot show. I didn't know until I read your story Friday just how involved he still is with the widows whose husbands went down in "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald."

He's a class act, though I can't believe you ranked Mike Myers over Pamela Anderson as the best things to come out of Canada. I might have to revoke your Man card.

BARRY: Myers gave us the Fembots. "The Wreck," as Lightfoot calls it, has always been fascinating to me, both as a song and a story, and I think a lot of people feel the same way.
