A Murray County student charged with sexually abusing another student was released on a $25,000 bond this afternoon.

Police charged 18-year-old Shawn Fry with aggravated sodomy after a 16-year-old male student complained to a teacher on March 9, authorities said.

The alleged incident happened in the boy's bathroom between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m., authorities said.

Fry was arrested the next day and has remained in jail for the last two weeks. But the prosecutors and defense attorneys came to an agreement on a bond this morning, said Conasauga Judicial Circuit District Attorney Kermit McManus.

Fry also has several conditions to his bond, including he can't have any direct or indirect contact with the alleged victim, he can't have any contact with any child under 18 years old and he can't be in any supervisory position where children under 18 might be, McManus said.
