More than 100 people were arrested Friday and Saturday on felony and misdemeanor charges in the second saturation sweep this month by the Chattanooga Police Department and the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department.

Chattanooga police spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary said authorities were reacting to the spike of violence during the month of March.

In addition to 101 arrests, Weary said officers served 32 warrants, seized eight vehicles and three guns and confiscated $2,244. In addition, police seized more than 8 pounds of marijuana, 2 grams of cocaine, 2 grams of crack cocaine, half a gram of methamphetamine and 23 pills.

Weary said eight arrests were gang-related.
