The woman who died in an April 30 Birchwood crash that also killed her three-year-old son has been identified.

Anna Pekala, 28, was driving north on Birchwood Pike in her a 1990 Honda Accord when the car veered off the road, striking a tree, said Hamilton County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Janice Atkinson. The car overturned and burst into flames, she said.

Officers say they still are unsure why the car went off the road, and continue to investigate the case.
