Staff Report

Searchers have found the body of a missing East Ridge woman in Sequatchie County, Sheriff Ronnie Hitchcock said just before 6 p.m.

Nancy Williams' body was found on Fredonia Mountain, a half-mile from where her locked and abandoned Honda Accord was found Friday, the sheriff said.

The body was about 200 to 300 yards off Sunshine Estates Road in a wooded area, Hitchcock said.

The site is not far from where friends of Williams and her husband have an RV set up, he said. He would not discuss the cause of death.

Williams, 68, was last seen Monday by her husband as he left their Meadowlark Trai home to go to work, authorities said.

Williams had a long history of mental illness and recently made a comment that if she were to kill herself she would want to die by asphyxiation, authorities said last week.
