Chattanooga police are investigating a shooting officers were told occurred during the early morning hours today, police spokewoman Sgt. Jerri Weary said.
Just after midnight, police were notified of a woman who had driven herself to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the foot, Weary said in a news release.
The woman, Brenda Finnell, told police that she was shot in the foot at 2820 5th Ave. while trying to break up a fight, but she did not elaborate.
Finnell was treated at the hospital and released, Weary said.
No arrest has been reported.
