Unum Corp. was honored Tuesday for the fifth consecutive year as one of the best employers for healthy lifestyles.
The local insurer is one of 48 American companies that received the 2011 best employers for healthy lifestyles award.
Unum received a gold-level award at the Institute on Innovation in Workforce Well-being Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C., based upon Unum programs that help promote wellness and discourage risky behavior
"It's a commitment that pays dividends at work and at home," said Helen Darling, president and CEO of the National Business Group on Health which sponsors the award.
