A pizza delivery driver told police that he drew his own .38 Special on Thursday night and shot a gunman who tried to rob him in Southeast Memphis.
Called about 11:20 p.m., Memphis police took into custody an 18-year-old man suffering from bullet wounds. Listed in fair condition today at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis, he had not been charged.
Shortly after 11 p.m., the 31-year-old Papa John's pizza driver was delivering three pizzas to 6914 Snyder, near Raines and Riverdale roads, according to a police report.
Walking to the front door, he noticed a man hiding behind a bush, the driver told police.
