Oh no, it might snow

Snow before December starts? It's possible, meteorologists said, but don't expect a winter wonderland.

The National Weather Service is predicting a possibility of rain and snow showers Monday night in Northwest Georgia, and Monday night and Tuesday for Chattanooga, according to its website.

Chattanooga and North GeorgiaMonday night: A chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.Tuesday: A slight chance of rain and snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 50. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.Source: National Weather Service

Dan Darbe, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Ga., said the combination of cold temperatures and moisture from a storm system could bring snow to the area. However, because these forecasts are for several days from now, there is "still a lot of uncertainty," he said.

David Karnes, a meteorologist for WRCB-TV Channel 3, said there is only a 20 percent to 30 percent chance of snow, and the snow probably won't stick.

"It would literally be flakes of snow flying through the air, if even that," Karnes said. "I wouldn't get too excited."
