High school sports standouts from Oct. 4

Angie Marini, Notre Dame: In shutout volleyball wins over Signal Mountain and Ringgold, she combined for 51 digs.

Briana Wesley, Arts & Sciences: She registered 15 kills in a 3-0 volleyball win over Marion County.

Gracie Smith, Chattanooga Christian: She made 16 digs and 10 assists in a 3-0 win over Sequatchie County.

Olivia Holden, Soddy-Daisy: With 19 assists, she helped the Lady Trojans to their 16th consecutive win, 3-0 over McMinn County.

Chance Davis, Hixson: Hixson edged Sale Creek in a 3-2 volleyball thriller as Davis dished out 60 assists.

Sydney Harris, East Hamilton: She notched 14 digs and 17 assists as East Hamilton volleyball beat Central 3-1.

Katie Delay and Jessica Kirk, Boyd-Buchanan: This duo combined for an astronomical 134 digs as the Lady Bucs outlasted Silverdale in a 3-2 match.

Loren Bennett, Ooltewah: In a 3-2 District 5-AAA volleyball victory over Walker Valley, she had 30 assists, 29 digs and seven kills.

Danielle Moore, Red Bank: As Red Bank defeated East Ridge 3-0 in volleyball, she had 13 kills, 13 digs and five aces.

Amanda Rheal, Whitwell: With 10 kills, seven digs and four aces, she helped the Lady Tigers topple Van Buren County 3-1.

Sara Holder, Gordon Lee: In a defeat of Darlington and a loss to Sonoraville in the Georgia Area 6-A/AA volleyball tournament, she totaled 16 kills, 20 digs and four aces.

Kailey Vaughn, Sonoraville: In two area volleyball tournament wins, she had 19 assists, nine kills, nine digs and four aces.

Madison Gossett, Dade County: In only four innings of work, she still managed to strike out 10 Chattooga batters in Dade's 12-0 Region 7-AA softball tournament win.

Alison Hale, St. Andrew's-Sewanee: She scored both SAS goals in a tie with Webb of Bell Buckle.

Brittany Rucker, Central: She scored the goal as the Lady Purple Pounders edged Red Bank 1-0 in soccer.

Allie Sullivan and Ashley Simmons, Chattanooga Christian: Both stood out defensively in a scoreless soccer tie with GPS.

Summer Lanter, Soddy-Daisy: With two goals, she helped pace Soddy-Daisy to a 5-0 soccer win over Bradley Central.

Becca Blevins and Madison Kent, Signal Mountain: They combined for five goals as Signal downed Hixson 6-0 in soccer.

Alanna Barnes, Boyd-Buchanan: She had a hat trick as the Lady Bucs marched to a 9-0 soccer victory over Polk County.

Abbie Alosi and Katelyn Carlson, Silverdale Baptist: Alosi had two goals and Carlson saved 10 shots as the Lady Seahawks beat Grace Academy 2-0 in soccer.

Ashleigh Renko, Ooltewah: Her goal was the decider in a 1-0 soccer win over Walker Valley.
