The search for a missing Grundy County man has been called off for the day and will resume Sunday morning at 8 a.m., the search leader said.

David Layne took an ATV and went hunting up Daus Mountain on Thursday. That afternoon, he called a friend to say that he had wrecked and was crushed underneath the vehicle.

According to Rusty Cheatham, Sequatchie County Emergency Management Agency director, Layne told the friend he wasn't sure where he was but thought he was near a firebreak.

The search began Thursday night. On Friday and today, rescuers from the Sequatchie, Marion and Grundy County rescue squads have been combing the hills from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Cheatham said the search will continue Sunday morning with additional manpower from the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency.
