Chattanooga's performing arts magnet school, Center for Creative Arts, has been invited by Disney Theatrical Productions to participate in a pilot project to stage and perform "Tarzan."

The stage musical is based on the Disney animated feature film. CCA will be one of the first high schools in the nation to premiere the stage production.

"CCA is thrilled to have been chosen for this project," said principal Debbie Smith, "and we look forward to offering our students and the Chattanooga community a remarkable and highly entertaining musical theater experience."

The production will be overseen by Jason Whitehead, musical theater director at the high school, with choreography by Lindsay Fussell.

Disney's "Tarzan" will be performed Feb. 16-18 in the school's auditorium, 1301 Dallas Road.
