A Chickamauga, Ga., man who has run away from police at least twice is wanted in connection to burglaries in Ringgold and Rossville, authorities said.

Authorities believe Garry Michael Burden, 47, of 106 Tyler St., stole a Jeep and motorcycle from a used car lot and later stole a truck and lawnmower in Rossville.

A car lot owner in Ringgold told authorities he found the lock to his gate had been broken and the back door had been removed on Aug. 19, a Catoosa County Sheriff's Office incident report showed.

He noticed a Jeep, a Kawasaki motorcycle and several auto tools were missing from the lot, the report stated.

As authorities arrived to the lot they got a report that Fort Oglethorpe police were chasing a motorcycle that matched the description of the stolen one, the report states.

But the man on the bike jumped off and ran away, said Fort Oglethorpe police Chief David Eubanks said.

Authorities believe the motorcycle driver was Burden.

Several days later, Fort Oglethorpe police got a report that a suspicious person was leaving a home, Eubanks said. As they chased the driver, he jumped out of a truck and ran away again, he said.

Later the driver was identified as Burden and authorities found that both the truck and the lawnmower in the back were stolen, he said.

On Aug. 20, Rossville police found the stolen Jeep from the used lot abandoned, the incident report states.

If anyone has information on the whereabouts of Burden they are asked to contact the Catoosa County Sheriff's office at 706-935-2424.
