A 30-year-old man has been charged with sexually abusing a girl under 12 years old, officials said.

Brandon Daniel, of Fort Payne, Ala., has been charged with sexual abuse, said DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris. Daniel's bond has been set at $100,000.

Apparently, the victim's mother had a relationship with Daniel in 2011, the sheriff said.

Daniel is in DeKalb County Jail, awaiting bond, Harris said.
