A father and his four children are all in critical condition after a crash this morning on Hixson Pike, officials say

About 8 a.m., Philip Boring, 36, was driving with his four children - ages 8, 7, 5 and 4 - when he was hit by another driver who ran a red light, according to Chattanooga police spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary.

Boring's 5-year-old daughter was the most seriously injured, Weary said, but he and his three sons also are listed in critical condition.

The driver of the other vehicle, 23-year-old Burton Webb, was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, she said.

The crash is still under investigation but charges are pending, Weary said.
