Chattanooga police are asking for the public's help in finding a bandit who knocked over a pregnant woman while robbing her at a laundromat, according to a statement from Sgt. Jerri Weary.

The woman, who is five months pregnant, told police she was doing laundry Wednesday when a man approached her from behind and snatched her purse, according to the release.

She received a back injury when she was knocked down inside Maytag Coin Laundry at 1501 Dodds Ave. and taken to a local hospital, Weary said

The robber was able to get away with $500, her purse, a cell phone and some documents, police said.

The man was last seen wearing a green-and-white sport shirt, tan shorts and had a scarf tied to his head. Anyone with information can contact the police at 423-698-2525.
