Three teenagers and one 27-year-old man have been charged in connection with the fatal beating of 27-year-old Jordan Collins over the weekend.

Red Bank police are investigating a death they say occurred during a robbery.

Detective Sgt. Dan Knight said in a news release that a body was reported at 3710 Redding Road at about 8 a.m. Saturday. He said police found evidence of forced entry at the home and the body was found inside.

Records show the home was owned by a Michael Collins and that Collins' son, Jordan Collins, lived there.

Family friend Kevin Wilkes said Jordan Collins was the victim and Knight confirmed the identity late Saturday night.

Knight provided no details but three people have been detained pending further investigation. He did not identify them.

Police officers and an ambulance crew were at the small, frame house just before 4 p.m. They brought a gurney bearing what appeared to be a sheet-covered body out and loaded it into an ambulance.

Neighbors said they didn't know the people who lived there and didn't know what happened, but some were concerned for their safety.

Mr. Pantazi,

Why did you print that I said the victim's name was Jordan Collins? I did not tell you the victim's name. I told you the family had no comment and respectfully requested to be left alone. This is another example of the media printing whatever they want just so they can have a story.
