Two men have been charged in connection with two home invasions in the same neighborhood, including one in which a gun was held against a toddler's head.

Ricky Young, 20, and Equante Johnson, 19, both are charged with four counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of aggravated burglary and two counts of criminal conspiracy, police said.

They are being held at the Hamilton County Jail, each on a $100,000 bond.

After being arrested, Young confessed that he and Johnson robbed both houses, according to an arrest report.

Chattanooga police Sgt. Scott Bales said the two are suspects in other cases and more charges may be forthcoming.

According to police, two men broke into a house on South Lyerly Street just after 11 a.m. Friday and demanded money. When a 2-year-old started crying, one man pressed the gun against the child's head.

The men fled with $400 and a cellphone, police said.

On Sept. 7, two men broke into a home on Bailey Avenue and pointed guns at two brothers. When one brother said he didn't have money, the robbers said they would shoot him if he didn't give something.

The robbers left with a television, a cellphone and an Xbox game console, police said.

After the invasion on South Lyerly, Chattanooga police Detective Wilbert McLean found Young at a house just four blocks away from the first home invasion and three blocks away from the second.

Because the investigation is ongoing, Bales said he and McLean couldn't say how or where McLean knew to look for Young.

McLean said he found two guns in the house matching the descriptions given by victims of both incidents.

At preliminary hearings Wednesday, charges against both me were sent to a grand jury for a possible indictment.
