Highland Park tabs Roberts

Dr. Jeremy Roberts, 28, a native of Atlanta who was raised in Dallas and Virginia Beach, Va., has been called as pastor of Highland Park Baptist Church, 1907 Bailey Ave.

This Sunday will be his first to serve the church, which had 1,103 members in 2010, according to the Hamilton County Baptist Association.

Roberts has served as adjunct professor at Criswell College of Dallas and at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. He also has served on staff with the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention and the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia.

He has pastored in Tennessee and Texas, as well as served as personal assistant and intern to leaders such as Dr. Jack Graham at Prestonwood Baptist Church, Plano, Texas; Dr. Ronnie Floyd at Cross Church, Springdale, Ark.; and Dr. Jay Strack, Student Leadership University, Orlando, Fla.

Roberts earned a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, and Bachelor of Science, Master of Arts and Doctor of Ministry degrees from Liberty University.

He and his wife, the former Charity Hope Crisp, a Knoxville native, have one daughter, Autumn Faith, 1.
