about Clay Bennett...
The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

GOING GREEN IN BIZARRO WORLD
Great cartoon, Clay! You nailed it, you stuck the landing, you scored a perfect 10!
Obama has, in fact, promised that cars and trucks will be more fuel efficient and that we will have to develop alternative sources of energy to cut our dependence on imported oil.
In short: Obama is the green President, but those policy initiatives result in environmental consequences. Anyone with a sniffle of knowledge knows that one stage of the floral life cycle produces POLLEN!
Just one more reason, as if another reason were needed, that we must de-elect that communist, anti-Colonial, provincial, muslim, nazi, foreign born, fascist, dictatorial, tyranical, power grabbing professor.
Ergo, the increase in pollen is obviously the direct result of policies forwarded by Obama, and has absolutely NOTHING whatsoever to do with that phony baloney climate change which we all know is a hoax easily disproved by a Bible verse.
Clay Bennet is a great American, unlike the president.
sorry but your wrong obama is the one who blames everyone else for his failures and that's all he has done since he has been president, bad thing is he thinks he has done a good job guess he has if all a presidents job requires is to go on vacation and blame everyone else and campainge all the time your president if these count as a good job than hes done great
We all know it is Bush's fault, just ask Obama.
GOP blames Obama? Bennett are you that big of a fool? Obastard and the rest of you pathetic liberals are the ones attacking and blaming industry and the GOP for the global warming lie and the rest of the ills of the world. This is exactly what obastard and the dummycrats are famous for, blame your opponent for what you are actually doing. Since everything obastard has done is a failure he has to blame someone because he is to chickens%$t to take responsibility for these failures. Typical entitlement minded victim mentality.
Why does Obastard not campaign on his awesome record? $16,000,000,000,000.00 deficit with no end in sight, no budget for his entire term, highest unemployment ever for any president , more people on welfare than any president ever, highest gas prices in history just like the deficit, failed obamacare, failed stimulus package, weak and failing foreign policies, a ridiculous energy policy, committing more troops into afghanistan, the ndaa, spending multi millions of tax dollars for personal use, attacking the catholic church, dividing race, gender, religion & wealthy people with all his hate speech, bowing to our enemies and giving them billions of our tax dollars while stabbing our allies in their backs , his illegal libyan war, the muslim brotherhood in the white house, keeping gitmo opened, threatening and disrespecting the supreme court, disrespecting our constitution, disrespecting our veterans, appointing communist radical czars, spending almost $1,000,000.00 to hide his college records and past, a fake birth certificate, his father being a communist, his twisted and sordid upbringing, his indonesian muslim transgender prostitute nanny, his communist grand parents and life long friends, his denied muslim faith, his racist church of 20 years, the new black panthers, his association with known weather underground admitted communist Bill Ayers, his wifes hatred of our flag and shame for this country, his arrogance and hypocrisy... obamas the best president ever, just ask him or any of his brain washed followers. Bennetts cartoons are a bigger joke than Barry Soetoro aka Hussien Obama, aka, obastard. What is really pathetic and disgusting is you liberals are proud of this fool of a president.
SARCASM, The brain's way of combating others lack of intelegence!!
Finally..something to 'sneeze at'..Woody
Just because for the past couple decades we've been pumping pollutants into the air that could possibly cause the earth to heat up doesn't prove that the record north pole ice melt, the past few years warming trend plus this March record high and now record Spring pollen levels are a result of this pollution. Besides, just think of how it could help pull up the economy in things like health care, air conditioners, gas masks, etc
Yep, you’re certainly right about this, Clay Bennett. . . From what I can tell, the only thing the Republicans haven’t tried to blame President Obama for is Mitt Romney’s Swiss bank account. . . Romney opened the account after George W. Bush was elected and closed it after Barack Obama was elected. . . Of course, there's still time.
Headline: Newspaper subscriptions down all over America.
Former subscribers blame liberal media!

With our nonchalance attitude toward things like education, the national debt and air pollution, I think it would be fitting if we changed the national bird from the eagle to the ostrich.
Well I have yet to hear any GOP try to say anything this ridiculous. I guess one-sided Clay is really desperate to keep his flock close at hand. But it is amazing that while Obama was running for the office he openly blamed Bush for the high gas prices. Now that he is in office he says it is not his fault and puts the blame on anyone he can instead of standing up and admitting he is a failure as a leader.
For more than one reason, the Dodo would be a better option.
Today's toon: Not funny, not clever, not even controversial. There may be an opening for you in Cullman, Clay.
Jack_Dennis said: Not funny, not clever, not even controversial."
Morning, Eeyore. Did President Obama cause snow to fall on your umbrella again?
Jack - if you you are looking for more funny, I'd suggest cancelling your subscription to TFP and spend more time with the Cartoon Network.
Good cartoon. Everything is Obama's fault. Thus sayeth the GOP.
"joneses said... .... spending almost $1,000,000.00 to hide his college records and past, a fake birth certificate, his father being a communist, his twisted and sordid upbringing, his indonesian muslim transgender prostitute nanny, his communist grand parents and life long friends, his denied muslim faith, his racist church of 20 years, the new black panthers, his association with known weather underground admitted communist Bill Ayers, his wifes hatred of our flag and shame for this country, his arrogance and hypocrisy... obamas the best president ever, just ask him or any of his brain washed followers. No you know what's really pathetic? It's people like you who spew this ignorant, stupid, racist nonsense. You are the kind of person the Secret Service needs to keep a file on. Every single day you come on this forum spewing your nonsense about PRESIDENT Obama. If he's elected to a second term I would highly recommend the Secret Service look into YOUR background. Your pathetic obsession with this President has gone beyond reasonable.
MTjohn: If I need your input, I'll let you know.
If only all the hot air could be harnessed to blow the pollen away.
Ibshame, the Secret Service doesn't need a file on joneses, they can put him on the list of blowhard crackpots who demonstrate what happens with brainwashing.
MTjohn, Cartoon Network is too serious, try Comedy Central for laughs. Especialy Ugly Americans.
Seems fair since the democrats are still blaming everything on Bush.
Jack - the first step to recovery is acknowledging that you have a problem. Since you obviously are not yet there, I was just trying to give you a hand up.
Not everything - just turning a budget surplus into a deficit for the benefit of the rich; a failing economy that hurt the majority of Americans, again to the benefit of the rich; a failed war strategy in Afghanistan; and, the fallout from his foolish decision to invade Iraq.
MTJohn that says it all.
IT'S NOT A DOCUMENTARY
Today's cartoon pokes fun at the GOP penchant to blame Obama for everything.
Love it or leave whines, Well I have yet to hear any GOP try to say anything this ridiculous.
Exhibit A: Romney and the rest of the GOP blame Obama for high gas prices. When gas prices rose under Bush (maybe the only Texas oilman who couldn't find oil in Texas) the howls from the conservatives were all about the world oil market setting prices and how oil speculation was out of control.
Obama did not blame Bush for the high price of gas. He blamed Bush for NOT pursuing a policy to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. Wind and solar power are two industries that China is now leading the world. How did that happen?
Here's a metaphor: while China was busy building automobiles, Bush was busy protecting the buggy whip lobby.
You think the XL oil pipe line will bring down gas prices here at home? That's what the latest GOP ad claims, even though its Canadian oil which will probably be exported. We have plenty of gas here, and don't look now but the U.S. is EXPORTING more oil than it's importing. Our oil demand is actually down but China is helping to push up demand globally.
But go ahead and keep the lies coming. I'm sure Clay will do his best to stay ahead of the curve.
Just sayin', A SAMPLE OF CAMPAIGN PROMISES KEPT BY PRESIDENT OBAMA:
No. 4: Extend child tax credits and marriage-penalty fixes
No. 33: Establish a credit card bill of rights No. 36: Expand loan programs for small businesses No. 37: Extend the Bush tax cuts for lower incomes

I agree with Jack_Dennis. This is a pitiful effort. But at least ol' Clayduh! got his swack in against the middle-aged white male.
Yeah and all you applauders of this cartoon were cheering on all the Blame given to Bush and even continuing to blame the late Ronald Reagan. Your boys just never do anything wrong, in your eyes. That makes your eyes in need of a little Murine or something. But then, you'll never see. All the promises he has kept, please give me a break. You folks really think President Obama is doing a good job. Check the eyes, they are badly in need.
Hey everybody, back off joneses..... Those rants give me inner peace....
Isn't anyone else in awe that venom can be so magnificently concentrated? It's nearly 100% pure.
Oh, and one thing you can blame Bush for..... the election of Obama.

I wonder how many republicans wish they had of said they believed in global warming, so they could blame it on Obama.

Only because President Ronald Reagan was the godfather of Voodoo Economics, L4L. President George H.W. Bush tried to tell Republican lawmakers that something was amiss with Voodoo Economics, but they wouldn’t listen to him. They were too much in love with the great communicator and their Voodoo Economics charge cards.
Even President George H. W. Bush’s own son George W. Bush ignored his poppy’s advice in favor of the godfather and his Voodoo Economic policies. In fact, during his presidency, President George W. Bush became so enthralled with his Voodoo Economics charge card that he used it to pay for anything and everything - his tax cuts, his invasion and war in Iraq, hurricane recovery, a big transportation bill, and a brand new prescription drug program.
I love it! acerigger lists the "campaign promises kept by President Obama", and as if some of them were actually a good thing.
It goes as high as 507, and includes approx 39 kept promises. That must mean about 468 of those promises weren't kept? And then he ends his post with "I don’t think there is another president in recent history who could present such a list".
Somewhere in the "not kept" list must have been...
Allow five days of public comment before signing bills
No family making less than $250,000 will see "any form of tax increase."
Negotiate health care reform in public sessions televised on C-SPAN
Tougher rules against revolving door for lobbyists and former officials
End income tax for seniors making less than $50,000
Re-establish the National Aeronautics and Space Council
Support human mission to moon by 2020. It's very hard to do this with what he's done with NASA.
Allow imported prescription drugs
Double funding for afterschool programs
Pay for the national service plan without increasing the deficit
Give annual "State of the World" address
Expand the child and dependent care credit
Forbid companies in bankruptcy from giving executives bonuses
Prevent drug companies from blocking generic drugs
Appoint federal-level coordinator to oversee all federal autism efforts
Double federal funding for cancer research
Fully fund the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
Change federal rules so small businesses owned by people with disabilities can get preferential treatment for federal contracts
Reduce the threshhold for the Family and Medical Leave Act from companies with 50 employees to companies with 25 employees
Require employers to provide seven paid sick days per year
Close the Guantanamo Bay Detention Center
Develop an alternative to President Bush's Military Commissions Act on handling detainees
Reinstate special envoy for the Americas
Increase the minimum wage to $9.50 an hour
Reduce the number of middle managers in the federal workforce. OMG, this is a laugh.
Reduce earmarks to 1994 levels
Provide an annual report on "state of our energy future" Another funny one.
Introduce a comprehensive immigration bill in the first year
I'm sure there are more, but my head hurts...
chatt-man - how many of those unkept Obama promises do you expect will make it into the Republican platform?
MtJohn said: "chatt-man - how many of those unkept Obama promises do you expect will make it into the Republican platform?"
Now, now, MTJohn. You perfectly well that Chatt-man will not be able to answer that question until the Republicans have had a chance to glance at their latest “model law” instructions and checklists from ALEC. Speaking of ALEC’s "Model Laws," Inc., did you see in the news that Kraft, Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Intuit, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation have withdrawn their financial support of ALEC? .......Yeay ☺
Thank-you, Kraft, Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Intuit, and Gates Foundation.
Having grown up in a small town south of Chattanooga I am very encouraged at the number of posts giving the super-cons so much flack. The times they are a changin and those who resist will be lost in the wilderness. The real people who will be left behind are those who cling to the attitudes of the past. It does my heat good to see open minded people in my old stompin grounds. Thank you Chattanooga!
The notion of a campaign promise is silly to me.
They should really be considered "intentions" because unless the elected candidate has the unilateral authority to deliver, then all one can do is try.
But intentions seem weaker than promises, and we want our candidates strong. So we essentially demand promises. Candidates take the bait, then we feel ill will toward them for promises unkept.
There is so much intellectual dishonesty in that line of thinking. Personally, when I hear a candidate say "I promise" almost always, I regard that statement with great suspicion. And when they don't say "I promise" I regard that as an intention.
Hey ACE your beloved Pres did not in any fashion help veterans benefits as a matter of fact he has increased the cost of benefits for all veterans both past and present. While he may have done some of things you listed I noticed no where in your praise of the idiot you did not mention the fact that what he has done is run up a larger debt than all other presidents before him. I also notice nowhere did you mention the national debt is now almost 16 trillion dollars. It amazes me the ignorance & absolute blindness people have towards their illustrate leader.
lovetheusaorleave said... It amazes me the ignorance people have towards their illustrate leader. You must be talking about Clay. Maybe you mean illustrious leader, LMAO.
Lil rickie just bowed out of the race, I'm so upset I could almost ROTFLMAO.
WOW ACE aka (DA)finally come out of hiding just to prove how ignorant one can be. You must have looked long and hard for his bunch of BAD information. But glad to see your copy & paste skills are improving, well ok maybe not have seen a 5 year old do better. It is so hard to admit you are a fool for voting for Osama Obama & his muslim loving ways? It is too bad he cant run the country like he can run his mouth or a campaign.
Nooga, I did not even notice that, thanks for pointing it out. You are correct illustrious was meant, even though I find that almost as inaccurate as well.
Although I had fun with acerigger's list of Obama's accomplishments, I tend to agree with moonpie's statement about intentions.
But I must also add... that with a democratic house and senate for the first two years, that's about as close as any president ever gets to having unilateral authority to deliver. Thank goodness it's not worse than it is.
chatt_man said... But I must also add... that with a democratic house and senate for the first two years, that's about as close as any president ever gets to having unilateral authority to deliver. Thank goodness it's not worse than it is. Nooga Says I completely agree, can you just imagine what kind of hell we would be in, if McCain, and (I can see Russia from my backyard) Palin had of won the White House. I shudder to think of the consequences of that.
chatt_man,
I would agree with your assessment that more should have been done when the House and Senate were controlled by Democrats. They were the ones who were not brave enough to push harder.... It's ironic that the Supreme Court judges seemed to indicate that a single payor system or public option would have been better than a mandate to purchase.... The House Democrats blinked on that one. And it still illustriates (nod to love) how unless a candidate has unilateral authority, he or she just can't promise a thing....
Yet another painfully predictable cartoon from Bennett. You wouldn't have a job here if my great grandchildren hadn't sold the paper.
You know Nooga, or as it appears you obvoiusly don't know... Palin never made that statement, that was something Tina Faye said on a SNL skit.
You're probably right, I guess gas would be higher, the rest of the world would love us less, there would be more division between the races, our president would be bowing to other country's leaders, the black panthers would be more vocal, unemployment would be higher due to the all the government jobs not being created, we would have started another war, there would be more people on public assistance than ever before, Eric Holder and the justice department wouldn't be in hiding, and the government would be involved in people's lives to an extent that has never been seen before.
adolph, Thank our great Universe for those Greedy little brats for selling.
I wish to hell i could blame someone, something for the pollen, but its Spring and Pollen is part of it, and you better hope to hell the Earth keeps having Seasons and Pollen.
I sneezed three times this morning before i could brace myself for it and with a cracked rib,i cried.
CHATTA MAN...DID YOU SAY SOMETHING ABOUT THE HIGH PRICE OF GAS
WHAT PARTY HAVE A MAJORITY IN CONGRESS? Hmmmmmm?
WHAT PARTY REFUSE TO SUBPOENA BIG OIL????Hmmmmm??
WHAT PARTY IS OWN BY BIG OIL AND ALLOWING BIG OIL TO SPIKE GAS PRICES HOPING INFLATION WILL CRIPPLE THE ECONOMY..Hmmmmmm
REPUBLICAN DOING WHAT THEY DO BEST....PLAYING GAMES....BUT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE ON TO THEM.....THAT DOG WONT HUNT ANYMORE!
Chet, the Democrats had the majority in Congress in 2008 when gas prices were high. Now the Republicans control the House and the Democrats control the Senate. So what is your point?
The CEO's of big oil have been to Captial several times for hearings and there has never been any evidence that they are involved in price fixing, so get over it.
Chet, try to educate yourself as you are embrassing yourself with your ingnorance.
Lord Bennett Sucks!
Thebama has been blaming everything on Bush since before he got in office. His inability to perform the basic duties of the office is a complete embarrassment. The latest? The GSA spends almost a million dollars on a convention and that too is Bush's fault!
I suppose The Wart is trying to compensate by trying to push a red herring on the opposition party. Hope it made him feel better.
Greyhawk said... "It does my heart good to see open minded people in my old stompin grounds. Thank you Chattanooga!"
Isn't it great Ghawk? When Saturday Night Live first aired, back in the mid seventies, the likes of the rednecks you see here clinging to their racist, backwards, sister-lovin ways had it blacked out! It's just a matter of time before they all die off and take their ignorant, poisonous attitudes with them.
Bidridgepatriot, your lack of awareness of the GOP practice is telling.
Try to take your blinders off, and at least demand your partisans offer factual claims.
Something better than lies about California universities not having American history classes. Or is that why Santorum dropped out this week?
chattman, sorry I couldn't list ALL of them(no space),that's why I included a link(the part that turns RED when you mouse over it).there you will find the complete list,in numerical order.
RD - please explain how it is that a person of "muslim loving ways" has such a Christian understanding of the significance of Easter.

Maybe you are right happybulbs. Please inform me of the partisan claim I am blindly accepting. It seems to me that it is Obama that is incapable of living up to his responsibilities and still blames his predecessor for his failures over three years into office.
MTJohn,dammit! Not FACTS again!
love,is it that you're somehow resentful that you're feeding from the public trough that makes you dislike President Obama? Maybe therapy could help you understand your cognitive dissonance? rogerdodger,it aint hard,Google"Pres. OBAMA'S accomplishments"(you know about GOOGLE,right?
Ace when he had control of both house & senate for 2 years and the only thing he truly accomplished is running up the debt & passing a unconstitutional insurance bill I guess you can be proud of that. Why don't you google sites that report facts and not the fantasy world you live in. I dislike Obama for the simple fact he has done nothing for anyone but himself, his wife & children that fly all over the world on the tax payers backs. I guess you dont pay taxes or you would care about that. You must be one his 99 weeks of unemployment minions that has you soooooo in love with him.
