Volkswagen on Wednesday reported that deliveries of its passenger cars exceeded 1.3 million in the first quarter, up 10.5 percent over a year ago on strong sales in North America and China.
VW increased deliveries in North America by 27.6 percent in the period to 135,700. In the United States, deliveries grew by 40.8 percent, according to the German carmaker.
In China, deliveries rose 12.5 percent to 483,400 units, the company said.
