Wealth Advisers picks Cook

HHM Wealth Advisers has named Andrew Cook to lead its retirement plan consulting practice.

He most recently served as a trust officer for a Kentucky-based bank and trust company where he was responsible for managing client relationships, which included both trusts and investment management accounts.

Cook also worked as an associate wealth adviser for a regional bank and trust company in West Virginia and as a commercial credit specialist for a regional bank in Chattanooga.

"I enjoy building relationships and making a difference in the financial lives of clients, prospective clients and co-workers," Cook said.

Cook, his wife, Jessi, and two sons live on Lookout Mountain.

C.J. Enterprises chooses Rouser

C.J. Enterprises Inc. has appointed John Rouser as its solutions manager.

Rouser joins CJE with a 22-year career in sales of information technology, the last eight in the Chattanooga area.

"John has extensive industry knowledge with client success and is a great asset to the CJE. His thorough, client-oriented style is ideal for helping our current and future clients." said Jeff Otto, director of operations and business development of CJE.

CJE is a Chattanooga-based corporation founded in 1980 that provides services and information solutions to government, commercial and health care clients across the country. It has employees in eight states.

Local law firm takes new name

Richard W. Buhrman and John R. Buhrman, formerly of Buhrman & Associates PC, has changed the name of their new firm to Buhrman Law Firm PC.

Its new location is at the Terrace at Frazier Building, 345 Frazier Ave., Suite 210.

Buhrman Law Firm P.C. is a father and son law firm that focuses mainly in the areas of estate planning, wills and trusts, estate and probate administration, conservatorships and guardianships, business law, tax law and elder law.

Shipp joins Lattimore Black

Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain PC, one of the Southeast's largest accounting and business consulting firms, has added John H. Shipp in its Chattanooga office.

Shipp, a certified public accountant, has joined the accounting firm in a senior position in the accounting and assurance services department.

He brings a broad range of leadership skills and experiences including having served as an artillery sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Vision Hospitality fills two posts

Chattanooga-based Vision Hospitality Group has promoted Mike Ward as corporate director of eCommerce, a position that oversees and advances online hotel sales for the Vision portfolio.

Also, Patty Martinez has taken the post of general manager of the Hampton Inn & Suites Chattanooga/Downtown, one of Vision's flagship properties.

Ward is the former general manager at Vision's Holiday Inn Express Chattanooga/Downtown. He has over 20 years of sales and business experience with notable accolades in both the medical and new media industries before he started in hospitality in 2007 as the general manager of a Staybridge Suites.

Martinez brings a wealth of knowledge to one of Vision's newest properties. A graduate of Florida Atlantic University, she has worked for Marriott International, taking on the responsibilities of supervisor, manager, revenue management and training in both the Courtyard and Residence Inn brands.

Edward Jones earns high marks

For the fourth time, Edward Jones financial advisers rate the firm highest in employee adviser satisfaction among financial investment firms, according to a newly released study by J.D. Power and Associates.

"For us, this honor is particularly significant because it is based upon input from our financial advisers and reflects their satisfaction at Edward Jones," said managing partner Jim Weddle.

Athens agency wins club award

Accident Fund Insurance Company of America has selected Athens Insurance Agency, in Athens, Tenn., as a recipient of its 2011 President's Club Award.

The annual award is presented to a select number of independent insurance agencies that meet specific criteria for written premium and sustained profitability. President's Club qualifications for 2011 included written premium exceeding $1.5 million, a cumulative loss ratio of 52 percent or less, and premium retention of 78 percent or higher.

"In 2011, these agencies excelled in helping us grow and retain profitable business and contributed greatly to our overall success," Mike Britt, president of Accident Fund Insurance Company of America.
