A man sustained nonlife-threatening injuries after being shot in Chattanooga this afternoon, authorities said.

Just after 4:50 p.m., Chattanooga police responded to reports of a shooting at 201 Fourth Ave., where Guy Wilkerson, 18, was found injured, spokesman Officer Nathan Hartwig said.

Wilkerson was taken to Parkridge Hospital in a private vehicle, Hartiwg said. He was then taken to Erlanger hospital for further medical treatment, Hartwig said.

Investigators believe the shooting was gang-related and are currently working on suspect leads, Hartwig said.
