Chattanooga Lookouts starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi left Chattanooga today for Los Angeles, where he is expected to join the Dodgers in time for Friday night's series opener against the visiting Washington Nationals.

The roster move likely will be made official Friday.

Eovaldi was promoted from Chattanooga to Los Angeles last season and appeared in 10 games for the Dodgers, including six starts. He did not make the team this spring and returned to Double-A, where in 13 innings he went 0-0 with a 2.08 earned run average with 14 strikeouts.

The 22-year-old pitched just one inning in each of his past two appearances with the Lookouts, including Wednesday night, and is expected to have a bullpen role with the Dodgers.
