The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into the death of an inmate in Bradley County.
Ronnie Dale Helton, 58, was found dead in his cell shortly after 6:30 a.m. Sunday, said Bradley sheriff's office spokesman Bob Gault. Helton was taken to Skyridge Medical Center but couldn't be revived, Gault said.
The sheriff's office asked the TBI to make an independent inquiry concerning Helton, which is standard procedure in such cases, Gault said.
Helton was jailed Feb. 2 on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor and indecent exposure, Gault said. He was being held on a $10,000 bond.
