Election Results

about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

As little as I think of Fleischmann, it could be worse when I consider some of the idiots other places have elected.

Scott, Morgan, Union, Campbell, Monroe, McMinn and Polk counties. What are their results? How does anyone know? While Fleischmann may appear to have won by double Wamp's take in the rural counties, who has a decent, verifiable report of what actually happened? No one.

We know that Wamp won by 100 votes here in Hamilton County.

Bradley county is split in half for that district.

Meanwhile, some of our rural neighbors have not updated their election websites in years. Are we to believe that the Free Press sent a reporter over there? Who called? We don't know a thing because the legwork to provide a decent count wasn't done. None of these results are verified. And, I would suggest, thousands of votes go unreported.

We don't know who won anything in that race. Spit out the totals, county by county if you have them. The paper doesn't.

Wamp won by setting himself up for the next race when the economy continues tanking. The number no longer getting unemployment, under employed or working part time and those no longer seeking employment is still over 14% as shown by government data M6. This number is over 22% in Nevada. Neither party is offering anything to effectively address this problem or the countries under 2% growth rate. Neither party addresses debt reduction while both have weak offerings to slow debt growth which are promises not likely to be kept.

95 Days to Go: Unemployment rate rises to 8.3 percent!!

Obama Campaign Sues To Restrict Military Voting!

President Barack Obama, along with many Democrats, likes to say that, while they may disagree with the GOP on many issues related to national security, they absolutely share their admiration and dedication to members of our armed forces. Obama, in particular, enjoys being seen visiting troops and having photos taken with members of our military. So, why is his campaign and the Democrat party suing to restrict their ability to vote in the upcoming election?

On July 17th, the Obama for America Campaign, the Democratic National Committee and the Ohio Democratic Party filed suit in OH to strike down part of that state's law governing voting by members of the military. Their suit said that part of the law is "arbitrary" with "no discernible rational basis."

Currently, Ohio allows the public to vote early in-person up until the Friday before the election. Members of the military are given three extra days to do so. While the Democrats may see this as "arbitrary" and having "no discernible rational basis," I think it is entirely reasonable given the demands on servicemen and women's time and their obligations to their sworn duty.

The National Defense Committee reports:

For each of the last three years, the Department of Defense’s Federal Voting Assistance Program has reported to the President and the Congress that the number one reason for military voter disenfranchisement is inadequate time to successfully vote.

I think its unconscionable that we as a nation wouldn't make it as easy as possible for members of the military to vote. They arguably have more right to vote than the rest of us, since it is their service and sacrifice that ensures we have the right to vote in the first place.

If anyone proposes legislation to combat voter fraud, Democrats will loudly scream that the proposal could "disenfranchise" some voter, somewhere. We must ensure, they argue, that voting is easy and accessible to every single voter. Every voter, that is, except the men and women of our military.

Make no mistake, the Democrat lawsuit is intended to disenfranchise some unknown number of military voters. The judge should reject it with prejudice

The lawsuit is aimed at correcting a legislative screw-up. Long story short, Ohio's legislature passed three versions of bills that deal with early voting. The first one was HB 194, and it was so widely despised that a coalition of Ohioans managed to get a referendum placed on the ballot to repeal it. Republicans, knowing that they were about to get their asses handed to them, repealed most of the provisions of HB 194, but kept the new restrictions on early voting in place. Voters covered by the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voter Act (UOCAVA) can still vote early during those three days, but everyone else is barred from the polls. The lawsuit is arguing that those provisions that were included in HB 194 should be enjoined, as they were all supposed to be blocked until put to a referendum.

The state law that the lawsuit is seeking to keep from being enforced isn't, therefore, one governing military voters, but one that prevents non-military voters from casting ballots. Again, if Mike Flynn bothered reading the lawsuit before commenting, he would know that. Here's a link to the full article; http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/08/03/1116257/-The-Right-s-New-Lie-Obama-Suing-to-Keep-Soldiers-from-Voting

Let's peruse some of Hussein Obama's utterances that belie any semblance of real intellectual capacity. In fact most serious middle school students in America know better: “When someone says ‘Polish death camps,’ it is as if there were no Nazis, no German responsibility, as if there was no Hitler – that is why our Polish sensitivity in these situations is so much more than just simply a feeling of national pride.” – Obama May 29, 2012 Sorry B. Hussein, there were no Polish Death Camps, they were Nazi Death Camps. Nice insult to the Polish people, and they took it that way. “They (Supreme Court Justices) are charged with the vital task of applying principles put to paper more than twenty centuries ago.” – Obama March 24, 2011 Sorry B. Hussein, America is NOT two thousand years old? Brilliant.

The earliest of the three Selma, Alabama marches across that bridge didn’t take place until March 7, 1965. “While our fuel standards haven’t moved from 27.5 miles per gallon in two decades, both China and Japan have surpassed us, with Japanese cars now getting an average of 45 miles to the gallon.” - Obama May 10th, 2007 Sorry B. Hussein, Toyota, which should know, responded that, “No carmaker gets 45 mpg; ours is closer to 30 mpg.”

“In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died — an entire town destroyed.” - Obama, May 9, 2007

B. Hussein, hate to tell you but it was 12 people who died in Kansas City, not “ten thousand”.

I’ve now been in 57 states — I think one left to go.” Obama May 21, 2008

Fifty-seven states huh B. Hussein? And people thought George Bush “stupid” for much less than this.

“Thank you Sioux City,” he said, before realizing his mistake. “I said it wrong. I’ve been in Iowa for too long. I’m sorry,” he said. – Obama May 16, 2008

Sorry B. Hussein, it is Sioux Falls and it is in South Dakota.

“Because John McCain has not, uh, talked about my Muslim faith, and you’re absolutely right that that is not something… [George Stephanopolous interrupts him with "Christian faith"]… my Christian faith…” – Obama Sept 7, 2008

“My Muslim faith” – B. Hussein actually stated that until interrupted by George Stephanopolous. How many liberals who voted for Obama have similarly slipped up and referred to their “Muslim faith”?

“In America, there’s a failure to appreciate Europe’s leading role in the world.” – Obama Apr 3, 2009

B. Hussein, in case you haven't notices, the socialism you so admire is bringing all of Europe crashing down and in shambles with only Germany and Great Britain stable.

"I bowled a 129. … It’s like — it was like Special Olympics or something." – Obama March 20, 2009

Or don't you want equal access to the polls, on the same terms for everybody?

I live south of the border. I have no dog in that race.

I've been quite busy closing out the books for July and paying bills today.

harp3339, really, they're all intentional? You'd be better sticking with them being legal.

And we'd love to close them, but we can't, because Mitt Romney won't name any of them. Just like he won't reveal his tax returns.

JonRoss, but then you'd have to admit that you did support the availability contraceptives, that you don't support children except in a theoretical abstract sense, and you'd have to admit how many of them are white, not black.

Oh wait, you won't.

Never was there a less deserving candidate for US Congress than a silver-spoonfed twenty-something with zero real-world life experience. Fascinating that any American, let alone 28% or so of the voters in this Congressional district, would vote for such a candidate.

Ace I seen your biased post about your king Obama. I am sure no matter what he did you & other blind fools would still worship the ground he walks on. Funny thing is there are as many reports that say is true. FACT to all you idiots he does not want states removing dead voters or illegal voters from their system which each state is entitled to do. I am sure all of you sheep can find a BS excuse for that as well. Hey unhappy just stating the facts dont give a damn if you like them or not!!!

JonRoss wrote: "the black population has a 70% bastardy rate compared to 30% for whites."

Despite any comparison of percentages, when contrasted as numbers in total, there are far more bastardy babies born to white women than there are to all other races combined in this nation.

Earlier, you made reference to "a women of color, sporting a gold front tooth, with a half dozen kids around her with little pigtails all over their head tied with bows."

Is this the only image that your mind conjures up when you think of the typical American woman with bastardy children?

If so, then I nominate you for the post as the poster child for the world of hypocrisy.

"The caption could be "Don't need those baby dadies now that I gots Obamacare."

Ah...yes...complete with the type of vernacular that was popularly attributed by white people to blacks when Amos and Andy was popular.

And you wound up that post by accusing Mr. Bennett of being a bigot?

Unfriggin' believable.

rogerdodger worte: "FACT to all you idiots he does not want states removing dead voters or illegal voters from their system which each state is entitled to do."

You cannot begin to back up the statement with video, that the President has ever...and I do mean ever...specifically called for the denial of any state to remove dead or illegal voters.

Further, you cannot begin to prove that there have been any more than a handful of illegal or improper votes cast in elections...ever.

Very few "dead people" have cast votes. Of the number of illegal or improper votes that have been caught, the vast majority of people involved were not aware that it was illegal for them to vote. Fraud was not their motivation.

"I am sure all of you sheep can find a BS excuse for that as well."

There's nothing to excuse. It's categorically and totally false to begin to suggest that the President has any objection to the purging of election rolls of the legitimately dead, and other people who are not allowed to cast votes in their respective states.

"Hey unhappy just stating the facts dont give a damn if you like them or not!!!"

You wouldn't know a fact if it walked up to you, announced itself, and slapped you across your face, leaving a red mark on your cheek.

THey are all in the millions of pages of tax codes that enable wealthy people to avoid taxes. Romney doesn't have to tell anyone what they are the IRS and congress knows. Congress has the system so convoluted even the IRS can't answer some questions about it.

Give us some of them there "facts" then, roger! Lay 'em out please. Or are you just another wingnut flame-thrower???

August 4, 2012 at 12:48 a.m.

JonRoss, that's nice, but then you consider the misreported statistics, the sham marriages and the divorces, and you realize your problem is seeing things by race as an excuse to ignore the situation.

After all, you can just dismiss it as a racial problem and never look in your own backyard.

Rogerdodger, except you weren't making a factual statement and your histrionics about Obama only reveal your biases, not those of anybody else. Those are just your continuing lies. There are no reports from credible sources and a hundred tea party blog posters and chain emails will not make it true. Obama's actions are to project legitimate voters from being removed from the rolls, if states had legitimate methods, they should have implemented them instead of a system that got over thirty percent wrong.

Or is it better to punish the innocent on the off chance you might execute a guilty person?
