There is no varsity history with the Colts, who had some high points during last season's junior varsity 8-2 season.
1) The defensive line is the strong point of the team starting out. Tackle Cordarius Tarver (6-2, 265) and end Jordan Tant (6-5, 215) are the building blocks of the unit.
2) Quarterback Hunter Williams missed the start of last season's junior varsity competition with injury but came back to prove that he's a true dual threat.
3) Though the coaching staff and players expect to be competitive from the first kickoff, there is very little pressure on the Colts this first season. In addition, opposing teams may tend to overlook them.
1) How will the Colts react when the bright lights of Friday night come on? It's something the coaching staff has been working on with up-tempo, high-pressure practices.
2) The Colts believe they have a solid group of starters for a first-year program, but quality depth is a luxury they don't yet have.
3) With so much emphasis on getting the starting 11 on each side of the ball settled, the special teams are still a work in progress.

Q: What do you hope to see early on? Is it about winning or just making progress?
A: I just want to see us playing hard. We learned so much last year and this spring, and I believe we'll pick right up and start strong. We really plan to impress people this year.
Q: What do you hope the game-day atmosphere will be here for that first varsity home game?
A: I just hope we have a lot of rowdy fans getting into it and cheering hard. I think we'll be a little nervous, but that's not a bad thing. We'll be ready for it.
Q: What kind of foundation can this group lay for future Colts?
A: Hopefully a strong foundation based on a hard work ethic. If we show young kids how hard we work and the right way to do things, we've done our job.
