Ha. Of course, prolife Democrats will be featured at their convention, as will Demos who balance the budget by vetoing lots of spending bills (Cleveland) or don't let them happen (Polk), and who say "That government is best which governs least" (Jefferson, if you count the first Republican as a Democrat).

I do hear tell that Gov. Romney's boys are trying to box out some of Ron Paul's people, which reminds me that the Constitution Party has nominated a 5-term congressman and the Libertarian Party has nominated a governor who actually got reelected (and who vetoed more bills than all other governors combined.) Romney would probably improve on Obama, but he can certainly improve on Romney. Jesus is rather libertarian: generous with Himself not with tax dollars.

Party platforms have been proven meaningless and useless many times but it makes the party activist feel good and important. I voted for both Clinton's. I did not vote for Obama or McCain and I will again not be forced to select the least undesirable. I would vote for either one that actively supported the fair tax proposal HR-25. I think Obama will win since he is an incumbent willing to do whatever it takes to win including lie, cheat, steal or kill. He can honestly say he will not violate his principles since he doesn't appear to have any.

No yano, that's how the democrats killed minorities. There's plenty of liberals who dislike homosexuals, Obama raided medicare of well over half a trillion dollars, their teachers' unions have continuously sold out children's education by going on strike for more money. So this notion that the republicans "box" these groups in is ridiculous. If they would look in the mirror, these liberals would see the hypocrisy in themselves.

If the libratarian party can get 6% of the popular vote nation wide we will have a 3rd party hence forth on the ballot of all 50 states. So perhaps a vote for Gary Johnson, former Gov of New Mexico, would be a better choice for the long term well being of the nation. I say this because we live in a RED state (both TN and GA are in the "safe" colum) so a vote for Obama would be meaningless since all electorial votes will go to Romney and a vote for Romney would be a vote for what got us in this mess to begin with. But a vote for Gary Johnson could help break the strangle hold the two party system has on this country.

This would be a good thing to happen. I can't remember his position on sick care. Sick care which is called health care will be the undoing of the country.

Government money should be limited to spending only for prevention. A cash only system between the Dr. and patient for treatment if prevention fails should be the only option. Do not allow insurance companies to offer health care. No cash or not willing to spend it then get your affairs in order we have way more people than needed for the jobs available anyway. Anyone willing to abort the unborn should support this concept. Anyone willing to force a woman to give birth into poverty while insisting welfare spending be reduced should be willing to support this concept.

We need a department that counsels people on accessing and obtaining the freebies in a non-hassled way. Creates more cushy government jobs thus reducing unemployment. Confiscate a "fair" amount from the successful to do all this good. A liberal win-win. It could be a one stop shopping process but that would increase efficiency and may reduce jobs which is not consistent with the government process plus employees may have to have a reasonable degree of intelligence to deal with the complexity of many government programs.

Jonses I may have to record the demo convention to catch Biden's speech that late.

Unemployment is over 8% but we still have over one million legal immigrants per year? Are all of them doing work Americans won't do? The inaccuracies in this cartoon are obvious. It's the Democratic party, building a multi-hole outhouse upon which its jackasses will sit and further degrade the poor people below who THINK the liberal elite is on their side.

Adolf Hitler rose to power on the backs of the poor, and once he was in office, he took away all their freedoms and murdered thousands of those who had fought for him in the streets. Why? Because he knew they would become hostile toward him when their conditions did not improve, and he conducted a purge to prevent a second revolution like the one that had just put him into office. The average German peasants (farm workers) and factory workers were guaranteed a full stomach and health care, but had a significant portion of their wages confiscated to finance the National Socialist (NAZI) agenda.

Flash forward to 2010-2012. Detroit is saved, buying union votes for the Democratic party, but is only prospering at the moment because GMAC (the financial and lending arm of General Motors) is giving credit to people who are poor risks. The housing bubble which collapsed when people could not pay their mortgages will be followed by the vehicle bubble when people cannot keep up car payments for a term of 6-7 years after the vehicles start to get old and need repair or replacement. Fuel prices going up cannot help this market. Just like the banks counted on magic to create the money to pay the mortgages, General Motors is counting on cash flow from car sales and monthly payments that cannot be sustained over another four years of zero growth.

The liberals who seek office cannot continue to deliver the goods to their low-income constituents. It cannot be done. It's only a matter of time. The only thing they have to sell is a bunch of promises which cannot be kept.

Now, as for the conservative side; GROW UP. You can force your kids to be home and in bed, alone, but you have no control over anyone else's kids. You are out of touch. If abortion is wrong, and a mortal sin, then God will deal with the mothers who commit it. In the meantime, victims of rape, domestic abuse, stupidity, poor parenting and undeveloped brains do not deserve to die from septic abortions, do not deserve to be shackled with raising children they do not want, and do not deserve to bear the burden of a full-term pregnancy for the purpose of producing a child that nobody wanted in the first place. That's life. The reward for surviving a sexual attack should NOT be to have a life sentence imposed by people who have never been in the same spot. Just as Salvation is an individual choice, so is the decision to carry an unwanted child.

Conservatives, if you don't want legislation that puts a limit on your earnings, then you'd better come up with a way to spread the wealth around to those willing to work for it. It's the moral thing to do. It's called stewardship. Look it up in the Bible.

Romney is still having a rough time with the Ron Paul delegates. There are nine states that seated a majority of Ron Paul delegates before the RNC began issuing rule changes to remove them from the states' representations. Nevada's delegation is threatening floor actions in retaliation on Tuesday:

Here's a summary:

Nevada - controlled by Ron Paul delegates

Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul captured the majority of Nevada’s national delegates early Sunday, overwhelming likely nominee Mitt Romney with an organized contingent who easily took control of the state convention. Paul’s supporters won 22 of the 25 national delegate slots up for election at the state convention in Sparks on Saturday. Romney won three.Another three automatic delegates are expected to support Romney, meaning Romney will have six supporters in the delegation and Paul will have 22.

DeGraffenried, the secretary of the state party, stressed party officials will not allow the national delegation to deviate from the binding caucus results.“We will not allow anyone to break that,” DeGraffenreid said. “If they do, the will revoke their delegate status and they will be replaced by alternates.”

Iowa - controlled by Ron Paul delegates

Nearly two dozen Iowans who support Ron Paul are delegates at the Republican National Convention this week and while the convention’s opening day has been canceled because of the tropical storm bearing down on Tampa, this group of Paul backers is focused on storm brewing within the GOP. Iowa Republicans sent 28 delegates to the convention, 23 of whom support Ron Paul. Delegate Mark Hansen of Council Bluffs is hoping to get to vote for Ron Paul on the convention floor. “Historically they always do the nomination on Wednesday and they’ve been talking about moving that up to Monday and now with Monday being out, it might be on Tuesday,” Hansen said today. “We’re really in the dark right now.”

Minnesota - controlled by Ron Paul delegates

Minnesota’s delegation to the Republican National Convention will not back Mitt Romney when the party gathers in Tampa next week. Instead, 32 of the state’s 40 nominating votes will be cast for Ron Paul during the roll call of states, according to Marianne Stebbins—chair of the delegation.

miraweb said...

Colorado - split delegation

Just 16 of the 36 Colorado delegates coming out of the state convention had committed to support Romney, when conventional wisdom held that Romney’s delegates would have a clear path to the majority. He had lost the state’s nonbinding Republican caucus to Santorum in February, but Santorum exited the race the week before the state convention.

Santorum supporter Sean Conway, a longtime GOP activist and current Weld County commissioner, spearheaded the “Unity Slate” of upstart candidates for national delegate positions to have a vote in the nomination of the party’s presidential candidate.

Republicans at the state convention rewarded Conway by electing him chairman of the state’s delegation to the Republican National Convention, which begins this weekend in Tampa, Fla.

The distinction traditionally is reserved for Republican governors and state party chairs, and the coronation of a Santorum acolyte further unnerved shocked Romney supporters, who expected the party’s old guard to waltz all the way to Tampa.

“It was obviously a tense situation, to be quite frank,” Conway admits.

Louisiana Delegation - Paul delegates unseated, one arrest, one injury

Paul supporter Henry Herford, Jr. was arrested by police after the convention voted to make him chairman and oust the establishment-appointed chairman, and in the process of his arrest Herford's hip was reportedly dislocated. Also, Rules Committee Chairman Alex Helwig, another Paul supporter, was arrested by police. Helwig returned to the convention with broken fingers and walking with the aid of a cane after a brief police custody.  According to Paul campaign sources, state convention delegates supporting Ron Paul balked at new Louisiana convention rules that allowed campaigns to pick delegates rather than the state convention and then voted out the establishment-picked chairman with a majority of the delegates.

Maine Delegation - Paul delegates unseated

Members of the Republican National Committee recommended Thursday splitting in half the contingent of 20 Maine delegates who support Paul, the libertarian congressman from Texas who is far behind Romney in total delegates. Ten of Maine's seats would be kept by delegates elected by Paul's supporters during the chaotic Maine GOP convention in May. Eleven seats would be filled by new delegates -- many of them familiar Republicans -- who would presumably support Romney.

Massachusetts Delegation - Paul delegates unseated

Ron Paul supporters from Massachusetts who had been disqualified by Republican officials as delegates to the party’s national convention say they have reached an agreement that will allow them to send two delegates and three alternates to Tampa next week. Seventeen Paul supporters, calling themselves Liberty delegates, were elected as delegates to the convention at Republican caucuses in Massachusetts in April, defeating backers of Mitt Romney. The Paul supporters were ousted by party leaders after some refused to sign affidavits pledging to support Romney, filed those forms late, or rewrote them.

Oregon Delegation - Paul delegates unseated

11 Delegates credentials removed. Oregon has a majority of delegates for Ron Paul and would have alternates for him too but the state GOP is pretending the convention ended at 5 (tho votes to end were out voted) and those alternates don't count. So it appointed their own, and are now, with a first ever tried theory, saying THEIR guy should lead the delegation because even though Ron Paul has more than half the delegates, WITH alternates they appointed ignoring the real Ron Paul delegates they have more of the 'delegation' (read, alternates). This is huge because now the RNC has just voted that nominations have to be in writing.

Oklahoma Delegation - Paul delegates unseated

The attorney for Rep. Ron Paul’s Oklahoma delegates to the Republican National Convention on Monday threatened the withholding of votes for presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, Oklahoma’s GOP chairman says. The Paul attorney told the RNC's Committee on Contests that unless it seated the Paul delegates instead of those elected by the Oklahoma GOP, Paul supporters across the country would withhold their votes from Mr. Romney.

Why do you believe everything D'Souza is saying? I know! Because he is talking negatively about Obama. You and your ilk will believe absolutely anything, true or false, that paints Obama in a negative light.

Do you really think Obama is making America more vulnerable to attacks by Muslim extremists? How? By having Osama Bin Laden killed? Or maybe by having Ayman al-Zawahiri killed? Or Anwar al-Aulaqi? How about Atiyah al-Rahman? I guess by killing these high level terrorist leaders, Obama has made America more vulnerable. America was more safe when all these terrorists were alive, correct? Can you really take yourself seriously if you believe those things?

You folks are the cult followers. You are in the "I hate Obama" cult. And you come here to worship everyday. You'll never see the truth. You don't believe it when it is presented to you on a silver platter with a bunch of facts and proof as garnish. But please, keep it up. Folks like you are slowly but surely turning into the minority in this country. Keep your conspiracy theories, rejection of facts, and religion. Heck, 20% of the people on food stamps are disabled. Another 15% are over 60. Did you know all that or do you just enjoy talking out of your ass?

"How does wealth trickle up from the poor?"

The poor have more money to buy products (money goes to companies). That creates more demand and the need for more workers to meet the demand. The companies must hire more workers. ECONOMY STIMULATED.

"Or out from the middle class?"

The middle class has more money to buy products (money goes to companies). That decrease in supply creates more demand and the need for more workers to meet the demand. The companies must hire more workers. ECONOMY STIMULATED.

"They hate the rich"

"I wonder who the poor people are that are creating all the jobs."

This is your argument? There are many rags to riches stories but I won't go in to those. Poor and middle class people (99%) are the consumers. They buy products. When they (poor and middle class) don't buy products, supply goes up and demand goes down. That causes workers to be laid off. I'll let you put it all together in your little peanut brain.

This is another waste of time on you Easy, but try listening to the speech at CPAC 2012 for some understanding of Obama and Obama’s real goal for this country. I knew early on he was out to destroy this country economically and through his foreign policy. Now I understand more of what is behind him. It DOES have a lot to do with his foreign policy which I have seen through for some time because he seems to be helping the enemies of this country not standing with friends. When I speak of foreign policy, it has nothing to do with the political “catch”. He had nothing to do with the “heavy lifting” to catch Bin Laden, but wants all the glory. The speech will be under Video/photo on the site above.

PS If he had listened to Valerie Jarrett (she’s another story), he would not have gotten Bin Laden. It was Hillary Clinton who persuaded him. Clinton’s have a guilt complex about Bin Laden. I will always blame Bill Clinton’s inaction for 9/11.

He had a lot to do with it. And he doesn't want all the glory. Bin Laden was killed on his watch. You blame everything else on him because it was "on his watch". New Movie: Runaway Slave

The Black Community has needed new leadership for years. The current crop keeps them down for their own benefit. The movie is for anybody caught in the same trap. Their excuse of blaming someone else for their problems (like Obama does) no long works. They will not get out of this situation by voting for liberals/progressives who use them for their own political/economic benefit. RUNAWAY SLAVE is an insightful look at how government policies have systematically 're-enslaved' the black population in the United States. Through entitlements and other government programs, a perpetual state of welfare exists, creating what can only be described as a form of modern slavery for a large percentage of the African-American community.

Or just keep grasping at straws.

Romney added that Armstrong's "passion for space, science and discovery, and his devotion to America will inspire me through my lifetime."

Obama said Armstrong's "spirit of discovery lives on in all the men and women who have devoted their lives to exploring the unknown - including those who are ensuring that we reach higher and go further in space. That legacy will endure - sparked by a man who taught US the enormous power of one small step."

No. I clearly said "If supply is up, the demand for more product goes down.". As in, the demand for more supply goes down. Seriously, learn to read all the words next time.

"I guess this voids the old scheme that if supply exceeds demand prices are reduced thus increasing demand and on the other hand (there is always an other hand in economics) if demand exceeds supply prices are increased thus reducing demand."

That is literally what I explained without reference to the prices. Touch up on the reading comprehension.

"SLEasy you are for certain the most stupid and ignorant person I have ever conversed with that self identified themselves as highly educated."

The sheer amount of fallacious content you post regarding the posts of others is astounding. But not as astounding as the amount of hatred and animosity your spew towards others here. I appreciate the comment though. I truly do. It's always a good reminder that I don't think like Wingnuts such as yourself. Please provide the pictures of Stalin and Kim Jong Il commemorating another persons death in a picture and a kind quote.

"Obama could have done a tribute to Armstrong by posting a picture of him on the moon instead of a picture of himself."

And then you would give him hell for using a copyrighted picture. The tribute and the quote were thoughtful. Who cares if Obama was in the picture? It's his tumblr. He didn't take the picture of himself and then post it. Someone else had to take the picture and then upload it. Keep reaching.

"Its called "cult of personality" and often(but not always) is seen in totalitarian regimes where the leader tries to "prove his greatness" by interjecting himself where he doesn't historically belong."

Obama hasn't done that. Would you like to keep reaching? You might pull a muscle if you try any harder.

"Interjecting himself into a tribute is totally different.'

How can he do a tribute to someone without himself in it somehow? Nothing Obama has done meets the criteria for a "cult of personality". Someone took a picture of the President looking at the moon. The tribute was actually him looking at the moon, not the picture.

You're the official straw grasper of the day.

Nothing that the tutu wearing wonder and her wind up monkey, J_D, is worth responding to. They both live for any opportunity to cast personal insults while cowering behind a computer screen. They're totally pathetic people.

Every inflammitory post they offer your way is offered just to see if you will bite back.

You and I know that what they offer is pure bunk, that they have no credibility whatsoever, and it will always be a waste of time to enter into any serious debate with the people that post the same crap each and every day.

They're simply not worth giving them the time of day.

Obama bashers are truly getting boring, and the more they post, the sillier their posts get.

There is no end to the amount of utter bull crap that people will come up with to attempt to demean Democrats.

This one takes the cake, and of course, The Blaze has such a fine reputation for being truthful, eh? They went into the toilet this time.

The Democratic National Convention runs from Monday, September the 3rd through Thursday September the 6th. This event, according to the Blaze, will allegedly be taking place on Friday the 7th of September in Charlotte, North Carolina. If indeed it will take place, the Convention will be over and everyone will be long gone.

The Blaze categorically states that the DNC has "announced" this event, when nothing could be further from the truth. It appears that this Islamic prayer group invited themselves, and there is no mention whatsoever on the DNC Convention Schedule of the event being any part of, or in conjunction with the Convention.

alprova said...

Pardon me, The Blaze flushed itself to China with the claim that the DNC was hosting an Islamic prayer ceremony as part of the Convention.

Go to Roger's link. Peruse the posters and scan the dates cited for the event(s). The dates on those posters are Friday, August 31 and Saturday, September the 1st.

The DNC Convention doesn't start until two days after the Islamic prayer event(s) are going to take place, if in fact they do. The Blaze alleged that the "partnership" event was "part of the DNC's Friday events. Convention events are not going to be held on either Friday, August the 31st or September the 7th.

This is the same group that held a group gathering of Muslims, who collectively held a prayer ceremony in Washington D.C. in September, 2009. Back then, the President was criticized for not holding an official ceremony at the White House honoring the "National Day of Prayer." This was despite the fact many Presidents in the past did not hold any official public prayer ceremonies on the unofficial annual day set aside for prayer.

I remember well, the claims that the President attended the Islamic prayer ritual held on the same day around the block from the White House, which was nothing but pure bunk.

Snopes does a fine job of bottling all these silly accusations and debunking them thoroughly.

I know full and well that it's all too tempting to take jabs back at those who instigate insults. I used to be the worst in the world to exchange insults.

tutu and company, through their antics, have given me pause to adopt a whole new perspective on what a waste of time it is to engage and to entertain such people with responses that they crave as badly as a heroin addict craves that next fix.

Debate is a great way for people to communicate what's on their minds, but it is only productive when participants are serious, sane, rational, and respectful toward their opponents.

There are several people who pop in and out of this forum on a regular basis who demonstrate that they are not serious, that they are quite insane, totally irrational, and are nothing short of disrespectful to others.

Never in my life have I witnessed someone go to the length that tutu did to challenge a very simple premise that if people are leaving quantities of widgets on a shelf, unpurchased, that this is indicative of supply outweighing demand.

This I obtained from reading your exchanges with her. Whenever I see her username on a post, I scroll right on down to the next one.

J_D clearly misrepresents himself, in claiming to be a fence straddler and an MSNBC slurper. He may be the King of the one liner's, but he's second in line for lobbing insults toward anyone who bats left. I've seen nothing from the man to support any assertion that he sits on any fence at all.

You're very smart and very informed. You do a great job of assisting with the effort in keeping the truth out there and refuting the lies with evidence.

Kill the trolls with kindness (You do most of the time), if you must respond. When you maintain control and respect, you will always be the better person, and it will absolutely drive them nuts if they fail to elicite an inflammitory or insulting response from you.

If you join me in ignoring them completely, no matter how much they ratchet up their attacks, you're going to witness a transformation of concentrated attacks on someone else. When they run out of people who will acknowledge a thing they type, they will seek life elsewhere.
