A fire that broke out in a building at 716 East 12th St. was quickly brought under control by Chattanooga Fire Department firefighters this afternoon.
The vacant building, located behind what will be a new police substation, is owned by the city.
The building was one of two sites under consideration for a new gun range that would be used by law enforcement agencies.
Chattanooga Fire Department Chief Randy Parker said there were no injuries.
