Mounted horse patrols being used at Hamilton Place this holiday season

Hamilton Place officials have announced that mounted horse patrols are being used this holiday season as a way to give better visibility to security officers.

EMRC employees Ralph and Gaye Saunders are staffing the patrols and, officials said, the horses have been trained to interact with crowds.

"The horses do great in a parking lot, they are very maneuverable, and on a horse, you get a bird's eye view and can see pretty much everything," said Ralph Saunders.

"Response to the mounted patrols from shoppers has been phenomenal," ERMC Vice President Jeff Brewer said. "Children as well as adults have come up to the security officers to check out the horses."
