When it comes to private banking, there’s nothing more important than a good relationship between the client and the banker.

That’s why FSGBank has developed a private banking team that understands the unique financial needs and expectations of private clients. The team consists of bankers Debbie Scott, Chris Gregory and their group’s support professional, Debbie Yoshida, who have a combined 74 years of experience in banking.

“Debbie Scott is the reason Chattanooga Emergency Medicine (CEM) banks at FSGBank,” said Dr. DeAnn Champion. “After banking with Debbie for the last six years, when she transitioned to FSGBank and we no longer had the private banking relationship with her, we realized that the person you bank with is every bit as important as the actual bank itself, and moved our company’s business to FSGBank.”

FSGBank’s private banking sector, which focuses primarily on high net-worth individuals or businesses, offers a range of services including management of personal finances, assistance with protecting wealth, advisement on expanding asset holdings and purchasing a business or second home.

“This is when having a private banker makes sense,” said Executive Vice President Chief Lending Officer Joe Dell. “A personal relationship manager who is a singular point of contact with the expertise to represent all facets of the bank and who is available 24/7 is like a bank concierge to help clients navigate their financial landscape.”

According to him, FSGBank’s commitment to hometown customers and customer centered relationships is what sets it apart as a financial institution. Unlike other banks, FSGBank is locally based and considers good service both an obligation and a privilege, said Dell. Private banker Debbie Scott said she routinely visits clients in their homes or meets with them at their place of work — even if that means coming to the emergency room of a local hospital — and often takes calls after hours.

“It doesn’t matter if it’s weekends, nights or days that are supposed to be vacation, private bankers are on call the same way a doctor is on call,” Dell explained.

For local executive John Stone, that one-on-one relationship and FSGBank’s commitment to personal banking any time of day are the reasons he works with the bank and was one of the major factors in bringing his business to the institution from another bank.

“While we do our banking there, have our investments there and recently moved our mortgage there, having that one-on-one relationship means [our banker] knows us and knows our situation in its entirety,” he said. “It’s provided a great level of continuity for my wife and I.”

Because FSGBank understands that being cost conscientious is one of the main factors in a client’s success, the bank offers aggressive pricing, flexible terms and high-value banking for clients, especially those involved with private banking, said Dell. That is why FSGBank’s combination of interest rates, fee structures and dedicated client support translates into a banking value unmatched by any other bank serving the area, he added.
