Volkswagen delivered 504,800 VW-brand vehicles globally in November, up 11.5 percent over a year ago as sales have climbed sharply in North America and Asia, the company reported today.

"We anticipate a new delivery record for the full year, but also expect next year to be challenging," said Christian Klingler, board member for sales and marketing for the Volkswagen Group, in a statement.

For the year so far, deliveries are 11.2 percent higher, coming in at 5.22 million worldwide.

Sales in North America have risen by 25.5 percent to 563,000 units for the year over 2011, of which 394,100 were handed over to customers in the U.S.

In the Asia-Pacific region, VW grew deliveries by 18 percent from January to November and handed over 2.12 million vehicles to customers, the company said.
