Three local cover bands and a Chattanooga-based nonprofit mission organization are teaming up to help hurricane-affected residents of New York and New Jersey.

The event, 12/18/12: A Benefit for Hurricane Sandy Victims, set for Tuesday, Dec. 18, at Rhythm & Brews, will feature music by Gentlemen's Jazz Quartet, Standing Room Only and special guests The Beaters.

All proceeds from the $10 tickets go to Score International, which has made two relief trips to the affected communities, is on a third and has another scheduled next week, Dec. 16-21. Score workers are distributing donated items and assisting in cleanup efforts. Money raised at the concert will go toward funding the trips and purchasing needed items for victims.

Those attending the concert are encouraged to bring donations as well. Needed items include gently used coats, clean blankets, sleeping bags, flashlights, batteries, paper towels, toilet paper and peanut butter.
