Today and Friday, Dec. 20-21, children and their parents/caregivers are invited to visit Creative Discovery Museum, 321 Chestnut St., at no charge between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
These Community Free Days are sponsored by Chattanooga Gas Co.
Carrie Fitzsimmons, CDM public relations director, says the museum holds two free days at Christmas in lieu of that month's free night.
"There will be various art lessons and walk-up activities," said Fitzsimmons. " 'Winter Wonders' and 'Helping Hands' are our current exhibits."
She said "Helping Hands" is an introduction to philanthropy for children. They can try their hands at giving by role-playing as a Salvation Army bellringer or making a craft for the families residing in the Ronald McDonald House.
" 'Winter Wonders' lets children explore animal tracks in the snow. There is a wintry maze and an ice-skating rink where children can skate in their sock feet," she says.
