THINGS I WISH MY KIDS WOULD ASK ME
EDITOR'S NOTE: Barry Courter has a 23-year-old son who graduated from college last year and an 19-year-old daughter who is a freshman in college.
Q: Dad, what's on your mind?
A: We are just a few days away from Christmas and you will be spending time with family. It seems to me it's a great opportunity to visit with some of the relatives you don't see a lot. Take full advantage and ask them about their pasts and their memories. It doesn't have to be a formal thing, and you'll probably learn and laugh a lot. I wish I had done more of that when I had the chance with the folks who are no longer with us.
