Man shot while sitting in parked car on Buena Vista Drive in Chattanooga

A 33-year-old man was shot while sitting in a parked car on Buena Vista Drive early this morning, according to Chattanooga police.

The victim, identified as Adairius Espy, was taken to a local hospital in a private car and treated for his injury, which was not life threatening, police spokesman Officer Nathan Hartwig said in a news release.

Detectives were told the shooter or shooters fled the scene.

The investigation is ongoing, Hartwig said.
