UGA's Richt dismisses three 'Dream Teamers'

Three Georgia football players were dismissed from the team today by coach Mark Richt for violating team rules.

Receiver Sanford Seay and cornerbacks Nick Marshall and Chris Sanders met with Richt this morning and were informed of their departures. All three players were members of Georgia's 2011 "Dream Team" signing class.

Seay redshirted this past season. Marshall played mostly special teams in 13 games, while Sanders appeared in three contests before being lost for the season due to injury.

"It's a privilege to play college football and to be a part of this team and university," Richt said. "Along with that privilege comes certain responsibilities. Mistakes were made, and part of our job is helping them learn from mistakes.

"Going forward, we are committed to assisting them find opportunities where they can continue their education."
