Shakespeare, jazz music coming to Jewish Center

The Jewish Cultural Center will open seven performances of "The Merchant of Venice" on Sunday, and conclude its Cool Nights concert series on Feb. 11 with the Ben Friberg Trio.

"Merchant of Venice" is being staged by Shakespeare Chattanooga at the center at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 5 and 12. Evening performances will be given on Monday, Tuesday, Feb. 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m. The center is located at 5461 N. Terrace Drive.

Tickets are $10 general admission, $8 senior adults or students with ID, $7 for groups of 10 or more with advance reservation.

The Cool Nights concert will begin at 7 p.m. in a jazz club-style environment. In addition to Ben Friberg, the trio includes David Schwab and Jim Crumble. Tickets are $15 per person and include beverage and hors d'oeuvres.
