East Tennessee man allegedly shoots at school bus carrying 33 children

A Bybee, Tenn. man was arrested today after allegedly shooting at a Cocke County school bus with nearly three dozen children on board.

James A. McGaha, 24, of 950 Alder Road, faces charges of reckless endangerment and vandalism following the Tuesday shooting that took place as a Cocke County School System bus traveled east on Knob Creek Road near Brunner Grove Church, according to Cocke County Sheriff's Department reports.

The driver of the bus, Robert Flowers, said that at about 4 p.m. he heard a gunshot hit the bus and continued driving to get the children to a safe area, according to the reports.
