Chattanooga barbershop quartet taking Valentine's Day bookings

"Let me call you sweetheart ..."

If the sound of you singing that lyric would stifle rather than stimulate romance with your significant other, the Choo Choo Chorus has a harmonious solution.

Quartets from the chorus are offering Singing Valentines sung in barbershop style on Tuesday. In addition to a love song sung in four-part harmony, these surprise appearances include a card, candy and a rose for $45.

The Choo Choo Chorus, directed by Paul Blazek and assistant Chuck Wilson, is the Chattanooga chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. The singers offer two major shows each year. The most recent Christmas show raised $4,500 for the Walter E. Boehm Birth Defects Center.
