Chattanooga police have identified the drivers in a Saturday afternoon wreck on Hixson Pike that left one man dead and another in the hospital.
Police Spokesman Nathan Hartwig said 54 year-old Mark Phillips died after being hit by a Ford F-150. Phillips was driving north on Hixson Pike when 68-year-old Warren Elliott was merging onto the roadway from Highway 153. Elliott’s truck crossed the median and hit Phillips’ Chevrolet Impala.
Elliott remains in serious condition at Erlanger Hospital. Police may file charges pending results of their investigation, Hartwig said.
