East Ridge Pharmacy robbed by gun-wielding men

Two men robbed the East Ridge Pharmacy on Tuesday, trying to steal money but only getting away with several bottles of medication, police say.

About 6:50 p.m., two men with handguns entered the pharmacy, located at 6006 Ringgold Road, and demanded money from the cash register, says Erik Hopkins, spokesman for East Ridge police. However, the register was empty.

The suspects then ordered the employee to the ground, jumped over the counter and took bottles of medication before fleeing, Hopkins said.

The robbers were last seen driving a black two-door car with no tag and were heading south on Prater Road towards Georgia, he said. The suspects are believed to be a white male and a Hispanic male, he said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the East Ridge Police Department at 867-3718. A confidential tip line is also available at 867-0016.
