Weidner earns global credential

W. Jude Weidner, chief financial officer of Long of Chattanooga, has received the Chartered Global Management Accountant credential from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

The credential is recognized in 168 countries.

Weidner also holds the credentials of certified public accountant, certified fraud examiner and certified financial systems auditor.

Long of Chattanooga sells Mercedes, Volvo and Hyundai vehicles.

Harbin Cancer Center honored

The Harbin Clinic Tony E. Warren MD Cancer Center in Rome, Ga., has been named the Cancer Practice of the Year for 2011 by the Georgia Society of Clinical Oncology.

GASCO is the professional organization representing Georgia physicians specializing in cancer care. Every major cancer treatment program in Georgia participates in GASCO, and Practice of the Year is the organization's highest award, according to a news release.

Dr. Kenneth Davis, Harbin Clinic chief executive officer, said receiving this award as the state's top cancer program is both humbling and inspiring.

"It is a tribute to our doctors and the entire medical community who work together each day to service the patients," he said.

CBL promotes Word to VP

CBL & Associates Properties Inc. has selected Scott Word as vice president of asset management.

Word began his career with CBL in 1993 as an accountant. In 2008, Word joined the asset management team as director of asset management where he serves as the primary liaison for the company's joint venture partner relationships. Word also spearheads CBL's third-party management business.

"In his nearly 20 years with CBL, Scott has repeatedly demonstrated his dedication and loyalty to the company," said Stephen Lebovitz, CBL's chief executive.

Word is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University. He and his wife, Meg, have two sons, Chapman and Parker.
