Three members of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team were selected to the Southern Conference coaches’ all-conference team, the league announced today.
Senior forward Whitney Hood and junior guard Kayla Christopher earned All-SoCon honors for the second year in row, while the honor is the first for sophomore forward Taylor Hall.
The Lady Mocs (21-8) finished third in the SoCon behind co-champions Appalachian State and Davidson, yet UTC had three All-SoCon selections and the champions had two each. One of Davidson’s was Sophia Aleksandravicius, who was voted the Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.
Davidson coach Michele Savage was voted the Coach of the Year, while Furman's Brittany Hodges was named the Freshman of the Year.
