A female driver and her passenger were airlifted to Erlanger in critical condition today after the woman's van collided with a wrecker in Cleveland, Tenn., according to police reports.

Michelle Grant was driving a maroon Mercury Villager van, heading east about 4:35 p.m. when she failed to make a complete stop at the intersection of 20th Street and Westside Drive, colliding with an H&H wrecker heading south, Cleveland Police spokeswoman Evie West said.

The wrecker struck the garage of a nearby home. The residents of the home were present but not harmed, West said.

Grant's passenger was identified as Shawn Wengerd, 24.
