Two suspects in thefts from CVS and Harry's Food Mart in Bradley County have been apprehended, authorities said.
Matthew Howell, 20, was charged with two counts of theft under $500 and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, Bradley County Sheriff's Office spokesman Bob Gault said. A 17-year-old female was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center where petitions were filed that charge her with two counts of theft under $500.
Wednesday night, a Bradley County sheriff's deputy saw a man run from a convenience store into a car with a black bag and then drive away on APD 40, Gault said.
After a stopping the car - whose driver was the 17-year-old and whose passenger was Howell - the deputy found cartons of Camel and Marlboro cigarettes that a clerk for Harry's Food Mart confirmed were stolen. The deputy also recovered a TV and DVD player stolen from a CVS on APD 40, and he later learned that a second DVD was taken but had been sold to an unknown individual, Gault said.
