Cortez named associate pastor

Hector Cortez has accepted the position of associate minister for Brainerd Church of Christ, 4203 Brainerd Road.

He most recently served as Hispanic minister for Dalton Church of Christ. Prior to that, he established a Church of Christ congregation in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Cortez is a graduate of the Baxter Bible Institute in Honduras. Before enrolling there, he helped organize rallies for youth from throughout the Western Hemisphere in El Salvador.

He and his wife, Rachel, a native Chattanoogan, are the parents of two sons and a daughter.
